2013-2014

New City Hall Data Centre Migration & Relocation Project (17 Months)

DRS provided Project Management services. Project to relocate the City's data centre (300+ servers, 100 physical devices, 5 SANs - highly integrated, mission critical systems) to a new, high availability data centre at the new City Hall providing improved service reliability and operational efficiencies.

New City Hall Core Security & Access Solutions Project (14 Months)

DRS provided Project Management services. Project to deliver a leading edge security infrastructure (including perimeter firewalls, internal firewalls, PCI firewalls, application delivery control, wireless LAN) to allow the City to take full advantage of current and emerging technologies and to provide cost/operational efficiencies with advanced design for enhanced technology resiliency & performance.

New City Hall IT Program Areas (15 Months)

DRS provided Program Coordination services. Program to deliver all of the technology components for the City's new City Hall including: network infrastructure, wireless network infrastructure, telecom & unified communications (NEC), data storage (SAN), faxing, printing, meeting room AV & video conferencing, data centre, provisioning room and staff move support and troubleshooting.

2009-2012

PeopleSoft Infrastructure Upgrade Project (6 Months)

DRS provided Project Management services. Project upgraded the existing PeopleSoft HCM 8.8 infrastructure (Development, Test, Production), migrated PeopleTools from 8.44 to 8.49 and built new PeopleSoft HCM 9.0 Development and Test environments. Project moved the City to a vendor supported state and improved and stabilized the infrastructure.

Exchange 2003 SP2 and ActiveSync Project (5 Months)

DRS provided Project Management services. Project enhanced the City's messaging capabilities by preparing the messaging platform to communicate with Apple iPhones and iPads. Project upgraded Exchange 2003 to SP2, configured ActiveSync and upgraded the server clustering software to Veritas SFW HA 5.1 SP1 to ensure that messaging platform reliability, availability and security were safeguarded.

Building Inspection Mobility Infrastructure Project (11 Months)

DRS provided Project Management services. Project provided the infrastructure - mobile devices, mobile printers, servers - to move from paper-based building inspection processes to computerized, mobile building inspections using AMANDA application. Project delivered improved customer service, accurate & reliable information and reduced risk and liability. Public response exceeded expectations.

Road Right-Of-Way Use Permit Project (12 Months)

DRS provided Project Management services. Project developed custom modules in the City's permit management system, AMANDA, for City Road Right-Of-Way and Traffic Obstruction permit processes. Project enabled consistent execution of complex, multi-department business processes and delivered improved customer service, increased accuracy and a spatial approach to viewing permit information via new application integration between AMANDA and the City's Geographical Information System (ArcGIS).

Cityworks Online Service Requests for the Public Integration Project (5 Months)

DRS provided Project Management services. Project developed new integration from the City website to the Engineering department's service request & work order application (Cityworks) to enable the public to submit Engineering Service Requests directly into Cityworks. Project delivered improved customer service, scalability, information accuracy and reduced operational costs.

Cityworks, ArcGIS & COSMOS Upgrade Project (14 Months)

DRS provided Project Management services. Project upgraded the Engineering department's service request & work order application, the Geographic Information System and infrastructure for COSMOS (City of Surrey Mapping Online System) used internally and by external customers. Project delivered new features, functionality and the foundation to enable mobility use. Project required extensive testing of 15 integration points and several key application interfaces were upgraded.

Provincial Health Services Authority

2011-2012

DRS provided Project Management services for the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) and Health Shared Services BC (HSSBC) on several high profile, mission critical projects. PHSA's primary role is to ensure that residents of British Columbia have access to a coordinated network of high-quality specialized health care services. HSSBC manages provincial health systems encompassing 100,000 employees and serving a population of 3.5 million people across British Columbia.

Vancouver Office Lease Consolidation Project (8 Months)

DRS provided Technical Project Management services. Project relocated and consolidated 1,000 Health Care workers and executive staff from 3 Health Authorities and 14 different business streams into a new facility while facilitating a business transformation. Responsible for managing the requirements, design, implementation and commissioning of all technology components including: network infrastructure, wireless network infrastructure, telecom & unified communications (Cisco VoIP & Microsoft Lync), faxing, printing, boardroom video conferencing, meeting room AV, Production computer room, Tech Lab & Provisioning Room, UPS, a PC to laptop replacement initiative and staff move support and troubleshooting.

HIM Dictation, Transcription Services Project - RFP (2 Months)

DRS provided Technical Project Management services. Project to procure and implement an ASP-centric solution for Health Information Management (HIM) services. Led the development of the technology requirements for the RFP and the high level project estimates for technology resources and the technology budget.

Providence Health Care PCIS Hardware Upgrade Project (9 Months)

DRS provided Technical Project Management services. Project upgraded & improved performance and stability of the mission critical Patient Care Information System (PCIS) for Providence Health Care. Project replaced physical Production database servers, upgraded database software and replaced & stabilized the Development and QA server environments with virtual servers.

Vancouver Coastal Health Authority

2005-2008

DRS provided Project Management and Business Analysis services for the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority (VCHA) on several high profile, mission critical infrastructure technology projects. VCHA is the largest employer in the province of British Columbia.

Regional Data Centre Relocation & Consolidation Project (15 Months)

DRS provided Project Management services. Project relocated high-risk data centres (100+ servers - Windows, Unix, Linux, VMS, AS400 and SAN storage - highly integrated, mission critical systems) across four Health Service Delivery Areas to a new, high availability co-location data centre providing improved service reliability and operational efficiencies. Project also delivered upgrades to server hardware, OS and firmware as required.

High Availability Data Centre Build Project (18 Months)

DRS provided Project Management & Business Analysis services. Project built a new high availability, co-location data centre for hosting mission critical applications to deliver patient care. Scope included the design and implementation of the high availability network, data storage (SAN) and power distribution systems.

Data Centre Management System Project (3 Months)

DRS provided Project Management services. Project implemented a data centre management system (Nlyte) and re-engineered and standardized data centre operational processes. Project delivered improved asset, network and power management, forecasting and cost efficiencies.

Enterprise Server Virtualization Project (6 Months)

DRS provided Project Management & Business Analysis services. Project consolidated and virtualized servers across four Health Service Delivery Areas utilizing VMware. Project included the physical to virtual migration of over 150 servers reducing data centre power and cooling costs while providing higher service availability and obtaining credits from BC Hydro. Enabled VCHA to become the provincial leader in virtualization with over 500 VMs.
